On Saturday, the Bulls decided to pull their initial qualifying offer that they gave to big man Joffrey Lauvergne. Shams Charania was the first to report this groundbreaking news.

Last season, Lauvergne was apart of the deal that sent Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott and a second round pick to Oklahoma City, and Anthony Morrow, Cameron Payne, along with the Frenchman to Chicago.

Since Morrow and Lauvergne have now both been let go, the only remaining player from that deal is Cameron Payne. Dear God, what an awful deal. Gibson is now in Minnesota, so essentially the only remaining players in the trade are Doug McDermott and Cameron Payne.

Anyway, back to Lauvergne, who will certainly be scooped up now that he is on the open market. He didn’t contribute much for the Bulls, but he is still young and has time to grow. While he was with the Bulls he averaged 4.5 points per game and grabbed 3.4 rebounds per game. King Joffrey’s reign was short, but he will rule somewhere else now. Long live King Joff.
