This news should be a surprise to no one, but here we are — Robin Lopez and Serge Ibaka have each been suspended for 1 game. Raptors assistant Jaamal Magloire was also fined $15,000 for shoving Bulls’ forward Nikola Mirotic.

The incident you ask? During the Bulls’ collapse against the Toronto Raptors, the Chicago’s center got into an altercation with Serge Ibaka after a made basket. The teams merged and the punches were thrown. Lopez’s hair did get slightly damaged, but besides that no one was injured.

The short term ramifications of the event could loom large, the Bulls currently sit two games behind the Miami Heat for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. With only 11 games to play, missing Lopez for even one game will sting. Not to mention that Brazilian backup Cristiano Felicio also left Tuesday night’s game with an injury.

After the game Jimmy Butler figured that the Bulls would be without Lopez’s services…

Chicago takes on the Detroit Pistons at home later tonight. It will be a tall task without Lopez guarding Andre Drummond.
