The Bulls are rumored to be very active before this upcoming draft. This is as it should be. After all, the Bulls need a productive player in this year’s draft, as they have had numerous failed selections. Here is a running list of players the Bulls have met with and worked out:

Interviewed:

Justin Jackson, North Carolina:

One player the Bulls reportedly met with is the sharpshooter from UNC, Justin Jackson. The Bulls were projected to steal Jackson at No. 16. However, he has now started to climb in mock drafts, and the Bulls may not be able to snag him. Jackson’s size and shooting ability could be the piece the Bulls need.

Jarrett Allen, Texas:

The center from Texas could be the biggest steal in this year’s draft. His defensive intensity and potential in the post could really help revive many teams in the NBA. The Chicago Bulls met with Jarrett Allen at the NBA Combine and have been showing some interest in choosing a center with their first pick.

Terrance Ferguson, Australia:

Unlike Justin Jackson, the sharpshooter from Australia has been dropping in many of the latest mock drafts. The Bulls met with Ferguson during his time at the combine. Back then, many saw Ferguson as a lottery selection, but he is now seen as a late first-rounder because of many holes in his game. First off, he ditched college to play overseas where he only saw four minutes per game, worrying many teams. Second, he did not show defensive upside in the combine. It would be surprising if the Bulls pulled the trigger on Ferguson.

Edmond Sumner, Xavier:

A junior from Xavier, Edmond Sumner tore his ACL this year, causing him to miss the entire season. Summer won’t be available to play again until November. The Bulls interviewed him for a potential second-round pick, but he also doesn’t fit any need in a packed Bulls backcourt.

Justin Patton, Creighton:

The other center the Bulls are rumored to be heavily considering is Justin Patton from Creighton. Gar Forman and John Paxson have been seen in attendance at many Creighton games this season, and it is not surprising they have met with him. The freshman from Creighton would fit the “younger, and more athletic” model the Bulls are looking for in this draft.

T.J. Leaf, UCLA:

As of right now, the Bulls have not met with the forward from UCLA, but they are rumored to in the next few days. Leaf, a stretch four and highlight-friendly player, has potential on both sides of the court.

Workouts:

Peter Jok, Iowa:

The 6-foot-6 guard out of Iowa, as of right now, is not projected to be selected in the NBA draft. However, he does fit many needs for the Bulls. Jok a threat from deep that had a workout with the Bulls after the NBA combine. It remains to be seen if the Bulls were pleased with Jok’s workout and select him in the second round.

Melo Trimble, Maryland:

Trimble is a Summer League candidate and, like Jok, is not supposed to be selected in the NBA draft. Trimble led the Terrapins for two seasons, showing his 3-point shooting and defensive capabilities. Trimble worked out with the Bulls, but it is too early to tell if how the Bulls felt about this workout.

Tyler Lydon, Syracuse:

The only projected first-round pick the Bulls have worked out so far is Tyler Lydon, a combo forward that can shoot from 3-point range. The 6-foot-9 forward out of Syracuse fits the mold of a stretch-four that the Bulls desperately need.
