Chicago Brewery Tours

With so many activities and attractions available in Chicago, it can be tough to choose where to begin. One of the forms of entertainment the city offers many choices in is brewery tours .

Among Chicago’s best-known breweries is Goose Island. Located in the West Loop, it is the first brewery ever to produce Goose Island beer. Public brewery tours are held several times per week. Each tour lasts for one hour, and at the end, participants get to keep a pint glass customized with the name of the brewery on it.

For a more interactive experience, many people choose the Lagunitas Brewing Company tours. Tours are held daily, and once they’ve completed it, many will choose to have a drink at the attached taproom, where live music is often performed.

Dovetail Brewery is also a popular choice. Featuring beers in European style, the tour is ideal for anyone with a passion for German beers. After observing the brewing process and sampling the many beers offered, directly outside of the brewery are various food trucks for those who’ve worked up an appetite.

At the Moody Tongue Brewing Company, guests can enjoy a brewery tour and a delicious meal afterward. Some of the more popular beers served include Steeped Emperor’s Lemon Saison and the Sliced Nectarine IPA. However, they also brew some more unique beers, including Scotch Barrel Aged Peated Scotch Ale. When it comes to dining options, food is served at the bar, with more upscale dishes on the menu in the brewery’s dining room.

On Tour Brewing is one of the newest in Chicago. A two-time medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival, the brewery produces IPAs, pilsners, and Belgian beers, all of which in one way or another were inspired by the brewmaster’s passion for music. Aside from taking a tour of the brewery, many people stick around for its live music and food trucks.

When it comes to the District Brew Yards, visitors can have an interactive brewery experience. Each visitor who is of the legal drinking age is given a card to use on four different beer tasting stations. The reason for this is because the property holds a total of four different breweries.
