There are thousands of Medium publications. They cover almost every topic a writer could dream up — technology and startups, love and self-love, travel, Victorian-era-themed satire, etc. At Chill Subs, we create directories of submission opportunities for writers. So, I think you can see where this is going.

Yes, we made a database of Medium publications with open submission opportunities. We’ve used Medium for years as writers and editors. One of the most challenging aspects on both counts was finding where to submit and finding folks who want to write for you. So we put what we’ve learned hunting for literary magazines and book publishers to the task of building something to help out. Here’s what we came up with:

• Discover only those open for submissions — Save the headache of going through each guidelines page to check if a pub is open for submissions. We’ve done it for you. Just check the box.
• Search by Name or Keyword — To start, we’ve set this to comb through each publication for any 3–5 keywords you enter into our search.
• Filter by categories and tags — start with parent categories based on Medium’s most popular tags, then get even more niche with an additional layer of tags we’ve gathered ourselves.
• Sort by number of followers — Find the most popular spot for your work or the sweet spot with a growing publication.
• Add your own or a missing favorite — Don’t see your favorite publication? Do you have your own to share with our users? We have a simple pop-up form where you can add all the details.
• Or scroll…and scroll… — Yeah, there are 330 accepting submissions, 306 of which are open for submissions right now, so what are you waiting for?

This is only the beginning. Soon, we’ll add functionality for Medium editors to claim and manage their publication listings.
