In the search for ever-increasing sales, nothing is off limits. We’re constantly updating and testing our funnels and finding new ways to increase our sales. We’ve stumbled on a great one to share with you. Armed with only a few hours to set up and a budget of less than $100, we increased our sales rate by 3.68% over 7 days.

It all started with a phone number. We got an automated 1–800 number and set it up with shipping, return, and support information. And, viola! We had our very own support line up and running within a week or two. We used an online automated phone line (via Grasshopper.com), a professional voice actress, a script we produced, and a small addition to our usual logos. We gave the line a few test calls, updated some of our top product pages with our new and improved logo, and pushed a steady stream of traffic to the funnels.

The response was immediate. The two most notable products both saw an increase in sales on the first day. For our purposes, we’ll call them Product A and Product B, they’re both small-ticket retail items.

But we didn’t want to stop at just adding a logo and a number. We also tested some slight color changes to our existing logo, and Product A’s light yellow colored logo outperformed Product B’s green and purple one.

Within 24 hours, Product A’s sales increased by 2.64%, and opt-ins increased by 3.12%.

Product B’s sales went up slightly less than Product A’s but still increased by 1.17%. We noticed a decrease in opt-ins with Product B (2.08%), but after 7 days that decrease was only 0.87%. Due to the decrease in opt-ins and slightly smaller increase in sales rates for Product B, we determined the light yellow logo for Product A was performing better than the green and purple one.

To get a more comprehensive view of the data and funnel performance, we continued pushing traffic to both products for 7 days.

The increase is obvious for Product A, but even though Product B lost opt-ins, the sales still rate increased. We’re continuing to test more logos and more colors, and we’ll keep you updated on what we find. For now, it’s clear that a logo with a phone number included is a solid option for increasing sales. The value the uptick in sales creates far outweighs the relatively small amount of time and money you’ll need to set it up.

If you’re searching for ways to increase sales and you don’t already have a logo with your phone number included, please give this a try and let us know how it goes in the comments!
