In late October of 2021, Co-Founder and CEO of then Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, announced to the world he would be re-branding the social media platform and changing its name to “Meta”, sending blockchain enthusiasts, NFT gamers/collectors, and most of the general public into a frenzy. What did it mean? What is Meta? Does it have anything to do with the Metaverse? A subject of conversation that has been talked about quite frequently across social media and in major media outlets alike.
While Zuckerberg’s rebranding did liken itself to the metaverse, he was not the creator of this concept. Rather, Mark Zuckerberg joined one of the fastest-growing segments in the blockchain space, recognizing the potential it has to connect people across the world and reshape the way we communicate with one another — and he’s not the only one.

What is a Metaverse, Exactly?

Chillville features the world’s first interoperable metaverse with play-to-earn gaming known as the Masterverse. It opens the door to any user from any metaverse to enter and participate — and the only requirement to get in is owning an NFT. The Masterverse features three main components that NFT holders can engage with to enjoy and earn!
Mining
Throughout the Masterverse are digital cities named after cryptos and stock assets. This includes BTCity, EtherZone, Sol Island, and DogeCanyon, among various others. Users will be able to mine digital assets in these districts to earn special minted tokens such as mBTC, mSOL, mADA, mGOLD, and more. These special minted tokens (prefixed with an ‘m’) are pegged to blue-chip tokens within cryptocurrency (i.e. mBTC is pegged to BTC). Assurance is backed for these derivative tokens by the token they represent from a collateralization pool provided by Chillville’s liquidity providers.
NFT Gaming
There is no limit to the number of NFT games the Masterverse aims to provide its users. Players can join tournaments, form teams, or face off in one-on-one competitions in which they battle, race, cook, or even join a heist.
