Chinese startup Rokid is reportedly talking to U.S. companies about its glasses that could detect COVID-19 related symptoms. The smart glasses, using chips from Qualcomm, could rapidly detect temperatures of individuals in crowds. Cameras attached to these glasses could also take pictures and use for public health surveillance. (link)

Yuanfudao, a well-known education technology startup in China, raised approximately $1 billion in a new financing. Tencent Holdings and Hillhouse Capital Group are lead investors. Yuanfudao offers online classes and homework plans. (link)

India’s government will enforce tougher regulations to curb Chinese investments or acquisitions of Indian firms. Major investors such as Alibaba and Tencent have made major investments to enable expansion of their footprints in Southeast Asia. (link)

Sony has invested over $400 million in Shanghai-based startup Bilibili, a video startup publicly listed on NASDAQ. Bilibili has major partners such as Tencent and has signed a 3-year deal to broadcast the League of Legends in its served markets in Asia. (link)
