Italy will be the first G7 country to join China’s Belt and Road project to boost its exports to China. Launched in 2013, the new Belt and Road initiative is designed to create a new economic consortium model for countries that want to trade with China. (link)

More parents in China are taking their kids to coding camps. Unlike other countries such as Israel where coding is part of the formal secondary education, China has not made coding compulsory. However, many expect that coding will become a required element of the extremely competitive annual college exam. (link)

The People’s Bank of China, the central bank in China, announced that it will establish a new system to regulate financial technology. China has seen rapid development in FinTech from crypto assets trading to payments. (link)

China is pursuing a space initiative that NASA stopped working on. The space initiative centers around building standalone solar power stations in space to generate electricity and transmit back to earth. (link)

Startups producing alternative meat using plant proteins are eyeing China as one of their most important markets. Well-funded startups in the space all have plans to enter a market with significant assumption of meat and also high expectations when food is involved. (link)
