Ming Dynasty: Jin Du

During the Tang Dynasty, the economy was developed and diplomacy was frequent. In this era of background, the music of the Tang Dynasty merged with a variety of foreign music and developed rapidly.

Such as Melody of White Feathers Garment, although lost for a long time, still makes people full of yearning. But what most people don’t know is that Melody of White Feathers Garment is the work of famous emperor musician Xuanzong of Tang. It had been introduced to North Korea and Japan and had a significant impact on the development of their traditional music. Xuanzong’s obsession with music played a vital role in the development of Tang music. It is said that one of the musicians played a wrong note while the palace band was playing, and Xuanzong could find and correct it.

The fascination of Tang Dynasty music is that it is similar to opera, not limited to the music itself, but a performance that combines characters, story line, makeup and dance. Many poets also like to incorporate poems into the music to enrich the story of the music.

Here is a piece of the Tang Dynasty music performed by the Zi De Guqin Studio, I heard from it quiet and chaos, peace and war, prosperity and desolation… I believe it will lead you into a fabulous art world: https://youtu.be/v-8AOJbdsDQ
