I’ve moved my guides to GitHub and I love it!

Earlier this week, I moved a number of guides (to web development, computer science, and the like) that I originally published on freecodecamp’s forum to a repository on GitHub and, in retrospect, it was the best decision I ever made (with regards to the guides that is). Not only is maintenance far easier for me, initial feedback suggests that the format is much more friendly for learners using the guides. Win-Win all around.

You can now find them here:

Over the next few weeks, I plan on giving the guides a bit of a revamp. Mostly maintenance type activities — things like making sure all the links still work, double checking that the resources listed are still the most relevant (freely available) resources, taking a close look at the projects and maybe tweaking a few to be more industry relevant. I already did a bit of an initial cleanup as part of moving them to GitHub, updating the formatting and moving (what, in retrospect ended up being excessive) instructions into a FAQ.

In celebration of how much easier it now is to maintain the guides, I added a new one that I’d been back-burnering for a while today: Native Android Development. (It’s in the back of my mind to follow this one with a “mirror” of it using Angular 4 and Ionic in place of Java and the Native Android APIS).

Please feel free to drop a ticket on the repo if you have questions, suggestions, or find something that should be updated. You can also reach me on twitter @P1xt or in the Chingu Central or Red Pandas slack channels of the Chingu Cohorts.
