Children Are Shouting

Writing by Hamzha O.

Children are shouting and mothers are crying for the manhood that’s lost

The nation is drawing blood from the refugees’ skin

The sea shatters the hopes of the children to return to the way things once were.

Countries are refusing to receive the refugees, denying them care and asylum,

So death and fear haunt us from place to place, smothering us in the problems of life.

On this long journey we breathe out our souls to the world, to hold back a little and restore our pride.

What can I say in this time? When I speak about misery and the pain of life deep in my chest, deep in my dreams.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
