High and dense technology covered in an attractive and sleek case that brings control directly to the consumer.

The Blackphone, the first fully encrypted phone that will provide uncompromising security to your electronic interactions, is set to release next month.

While this smartphone may look like a prop from a Bond movie, it’s nothing like a prop or a gimmick!

The result of a technological joint venture between Silent Circle and Geeksphone (a Spanish startup), the Blackphone will be the first fully encrypted phone that will feature secure communication touted to keep you off the grid even from NSA taps!

And there’s good reason to consider that claim, with one of the co-founders of Silent Circle being a former navy seal sniper and the other, the creator of PGP (a gold-standard data encryption and decryption computer program).

The Blackphone, is touted to be launched at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona and to go on sale to the public by the end of February 2014.

Compromised browsing histories, leaking electronic communications, hacked accounts and other such transgressions are leading to customers all around the globe being unhappy at their helplessness (or frailty).

Their concerns have led to a burgeoning demand for the reliable encoding of texts, passwords, video- and VoIP-calls. In fact, this popular demand transcends individuals — Multinational corporations, states, even governments are in dire need for securer connections that are inviolable and impermeable. Not only do they want to prohibit snooping, they also want to not leave any traces.

The Blackphone is here to meet these needs.

In the words of it’s creator, their product is ‘the world’s first privacy oriented high end smartphone.

The phone will have the capability for encrypted phone calls, encrypted texts and contacts, anonymous browsing and more. Interestingly, the duo have gone through the lengths of creating a customised version of Android called PrivateOS, which allows the user to have a similar experience they would while on an Android device, while being completely assured of their privacy.

The Blackphone’s hardware is benchmarked similar to the hardware found on the iPhone 5S and high-end Samsung Galaxy handsets while not being as expensive.

The intent and the product (i.e. the software) has already gained attention.
While the encryption of the Blackphone is linked to the software as well as the handset, there have been talks from interested manufacturers to move the encryption process entirely to the software in the future, thereby providing a means to convert each Android phone in the world to become a securely encrypted one!

The Blackphone is indeed high and dense technology covered in an attractive and sleek casing bringing control directly to the consumer.
