PM and his Cabinet act Oblivious to FSM Crisis

Over the previous week and into today, Boris Johnson and his government have acted almost obliviously to the footballer Marcus Rashford’s campaign to extend free school meals into the holidays. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have all followed through, whereas the UK government has claimed that it has invested money into councils for this (only some councils are offering FSM through the holidays). The outrage at these claims and lack of action from central government has encouraged a united response across the whole of England, with everyone from charities, to restaurants and even to electricians offering free meals for those who’d otherwise go hungry.
