Networking event at Sheffield Hallam

On the 19th October 2016, Bradford City FC hosted an event for first year students, providing an oppotunity to network with professionals in the hospitality industry.

​The event consisted of a Q&A session to start with which gave the students an oppotunity to as a ranage of questions with some of the leading industry professionals, giving the all the students some great answers and infomation to take away with them. Following this, a ‘speed dating’ styled feedback session gave the students the ability to chat with a number of different employers in the hospitality industry. This event aimed improve the confidence of undergraduate students before searching for jobs within hospitality, and also to improve their skills to communicate, and understand the field which they are studying in.

The event was considered a huge success and a number of students had very positive things to say about the day:

“This was a great opportunity to speak to potential employers, giving us an idea what to do in the future and how to success. Well done, thank you for the event it was very helpful. I enjoyed it”.

“Today was a very unique experience, a definite learning curve. I found it very useful, motivating and inspiring. It developed my knowledge to further develop my long term goals. It was an absolute pleasure meeting all of you”.

“It was a wonderful experience and has also given me a broad knowledge of how to further my career”

The day concluded with what was an inspiring speech from Peter Ducker, about the career paths which are there to be taken after university in hospitality.

The event was the idea of Dr. Alisha Ali (Sheffield Hallam University) and Sofia Rebelo (formally Leeds Becket University and member of CHME)
