A new NFT has claimed the crown, and, aims to “Stick-er” around for a long time…
Well, well, well, it appears that the Non-Fungible token market (NFT) is showing no signs of slowing, and new projects are appearing daily. Some will win, some will lose, and, some will become synonymous with creating eco-systems and driving mass adoption for Cryptocurrency and blockchain technology like never before.
Think about the fever we had when Pokemon cards were the hot topic on the playground. When Pogs, Tazo’s, Knuckleheads, Tamagochi’s, heck, even that year when Conkers were the rage and someone hit one so hard it hit that lad square in the groin after being cooked in vinegar overnight by that lasses mum, after hearing it from “nan” one year over Xmas pudding. *(okay, just me then….)
Even with the market changes that we are all suffering through as long-term HODLers, people have still heavily invested in their Gods Unchained cards, getting ready for their beta launch, collecting, and, utilising their Crypto Barons armies, and, resources, or, buying, and, developing on their virtual land in Decentraland, the hoarder, and, collector mentality is rife, and, there for all to see.
WAX, a project close to my heart, decided to enter the foray of the collectable market too, bringing their own blockchain-based next big thing to the table. And boy, is a great idea.

Stickers allow you as a fan to connect to your favourite influencer, streamer, team, organisation or player of the titles you love. Even traditional sports teams are getting in on the act as they see the value of fans being able to be turned into superfans by collecting and trading limited edition artwork.
Imagine paying for a season ticket to your favourite club and a selection of lucky fans are drawn from a ballot to be lucky recipients of their clubs crest or star players autograph? The demand for these from people that do not have these as fans, coupled with demand from collectors that wish to simply “own em’ all” would be humongous. Supply and Demand for a virtual currency and collectable that can never be taken from you and will last forever is a phenomenal development.

To further add to the core collectability that these stickers will possess — WAX has also announced that via their WAXTrade API, VGO.gg skins will be able to “wear” or have WAX Stickers applied to them, plus the near release and developed WAX keyboard will enable any sticker to be utilised in any messenger app, much like a bitmoji or emoji’s that we all love right now. Couple this with their previously shown partnership with the AR/VR project Terra Virtua, you should be able to see these stickers in 3d, on your own digital avatar, it will be like Ready Player One already and I’m excited about that, a lot.
