If you need an inspiring story for your midweek, get ready…

After fleeing Syria and arriving in England, Majeda Khoury wanted to share about the war, believing many people, didn’t fully understand its magnitude.

One evening whilst cooking and sharing a meal with her host family, it occurred to Majeda, people seem to be more receptive and willing to listen when sharing a meal with them. Giving Majeda a new outlet for her activism — Activism that fed and spread awareness to the conflict from her war-torn home.

It is inspiring to see how Majeda united a local community with food, cultivating empathy, and spreading awareness of an almost hidden conflict.

With everything going against her, she didn't give up on her activism, helping others and spreading love. She has now been reunited with her sons and has since grown her shared meals, to now cooking and hosting more than 100 people in her local community.

So, to have a conversation with impact — give it appeal, with a meal.
