Principles:

The Choose Yourself Community is to bring together like-minded individuals who are inspired by James Altucher’s and Claudia Azula Altucher’s writing, along with the principles of those they interview on their podcasts. The community will be operated under the following principles:

  • Diversity: The community will accept people from all countries and with diverse political, socioeconomic and religious beliefs.
  • Honesty: The community will maintain an honest environment in all members’ interactions, comments and posts.
  • Aim to help others: The community will only engage in activities and accept posts that result in positive benefits to the majority of our members.
  • Help maintain a positive community: The community will maintain an upbeat, positive and supportive tone in all posts and activities.
  • Fun: The community will maintain a friendly and entertaining culture where people feel accepted, heard and understood.
  • Confidentiality: No posts or photos may be shared outside of the Choose Yourself community unless its contents contain only public information.

Basic Rules:

  • Be respectful
  • Be supportive
  • Evaluate your post — am I “sharing” or am I “selling”? Selling and marketing your business is not allowed in this group. If you post a blog article you’ve written, be sure it is to support the greater good of the group or specific topic, and not to “sell” anything.

What is Encouraged:

  • Sharing your “Choose Yourself” stories from your own lives inspired by, and as a result of any of the Altucher’s materials
  • Sharing ideas, giving ideas, seeking ideas
  • Asking for help on a challenge you’re facing in your personal or professional lives
  • Sharing resources that will help other people (articles, books, podcasts, etc.)
  • Have interesting debates and discussions
  • Sharing Choose Yourself Meetup’s activities and events

Not the Place for:

  • Self Promotion
  • Advertising and marketing
  • Invitation to personal or business events outside of Choose Yourself activities
  • Political lobbying
  • Discussion for social, religious or political issues
  • Direct and open criticisms of members
  • Soliciting partnerships or personal relationships
  • Open criticisms on public figures, celebrities, corporations or organizations
  • Recruiting
  • Spam
  • Inappropriate behavior
  • Indecent posts
