Week 17

It’s freaking cold outside! A polar vortex landed upon the Upper Midwest and is sitting upon us for another week. Fun times. Trapped inside, but at least it is sunny.

We had a very good week in terms of minimal waste. The trash was a single bag, 1 plastic bag from dog food, and 2 dog waste bags.

Compost was a bit more from greasy pizza that meant we couldn’t recycle it, although I would like to compliment Pizza Luce for their box design, which specifically highlights that it can be composted! We also got takeout for the Super Bowl from Red Cow. High five to them for using all recyclable takeout containers as well. This is a lovely trend we are sensing in our city.

Here are our totals for the week, rounded up to the nearest 25%.

Trash: 25% (If actually wasn’t emptied last week)

Organics: 50%

Recycling 1: 25%

Recycling 2: 75%

Extra: None
