Too Many Words

Maybe it’s because I’m an introvert. Maybe it’s because I’m a man.

But I’m of the firm view that people use too many words.

As if, by speaking more, and faster, and louder, they can persuade me about things that I’m not keen on.

If only we can get in our best arguments before the other participant shuts down. Perhaps we can just berate them into accepting our view.

If you’re not making an impact, then it’s because of the quality — not the quantity.

If you’re not effecting change, then it’s quality — not quantity.

And if you think that out-talking somebody is a trait that you should be proud of, then you should think again.

Those convinced against their will, are of the same opinion still.

Aim for quality.

Be prepared to move on.
