Is Blizzard trying to mask how many games for a reason?

I wonder what the reasoning is for not showing the games going on and why you can queue for a particular number now. The conspiracy theory idea that I have is that Blizz wants other battlegroups that have less activity to ?not know? just how little activity is going on, but that can?t be it. The question is ?Why??. What use is not showing the games going on now?

Has anyone seen anything in patch notes or interviews?
