Let joy be your continual feast. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 TPT
We are given the instruction to “rejoice always,” which is essentially God’s desire for us in any circumstance. Both the apostle Paul and the Psalmist often urged men to bring up joyful praise to God in their writings to the churches. Rejoicing comes naturally when things are going well, but when we are experiencing extremely difficult times in our lives, it is the last thing on our minds.
We may not always be happy because we put our reliance on people and things other than God, including those who have a history of disappointing us.
Our happiness must not be based on the circumstances we find ourselves in or the possessions we own. Because we are God’s children and have God on our side no matter what life throws at us, we should be glad. When we put our trust in God, we may rest assured that He is in control of everything that happens to us and around us.
As long as we keep in mind God’s promises, we will be glad. We also have faith that He will faithfully keep all of His promises because He is a Great Father. Let joy be your constant feast because none of the excellent things God promised the house of Israel failed. His promise to you will always stand. Hallelujah!!
Abba Father, I appreciate Your never-failing promises. I pray that I never forget how powerful You are to save me and that I constantly rejoice in You.
