Attaining Mastery.

Apostle Paul, an exemplary leader, came to a season in his life where he expressed the need for every leader to attain mastery over their flesh, lest they find themselves wanting after working hard for the Lord. Attaining mastery is a balance of accepting the call of God on your life, having understanding, walking with humility and obeying instructions. Wisdom lights up counsel by words filled with knowledge.
Should you stand this day before the Lord, would you be cast out after all the hard work and sacrifice you have done for the Lord? But I keep under my body and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway [1 Corinthians 9:27]. Walk in the spirit, and you will not fulfil the desires of the flesh. One sure way of doing this is by obeying the instructions of leaders.
The leaders God has given to us are there to help us become progressively better, even as they are also led by the Lord.
Be deliberate about carrying out instructions, knowing they are vital in attaining mastery. The instruction of your leader is the voice of God in your life, so obey. When you know God has given you a leader who loves you and is interested in your well-being, you know that he/she won’t instruct you to do something that goes against the will of God. Make the decision today to be a better leader and strive for mastery.
God, thank you for my leaders. Thank you for setting them over me with your power and authority. Grant me the grace not just to obey them, but also to love them.
