Be Diligent

24 SEPTEMBER 2022

Christ for Youth International

If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. Luke 16:10 NLT

Laziness has no place in the character of a Jesus follower. The Bible talks about laziness and the tragic repercussions of a lax lifestyle. We are encouraged to be diligent always and put in our best effort as stewards of the blessings God gives to us. Think of the anointing in this context; all of it is in you, yet there are access levels you go through to enjoy its full potential.

That is why we all do not express the anointing in the same way. That is why we end up saying others are more anointed; they have paid the price to access a higher level. One thing that hinders us from paying the price and going higher is laziness. When we are not careful to be faithful in working with the access level, we have now, we have no business looking for the higher levels.

Let us be careful to work hard and put away all forms of laziness, for the sake of the anointing we need to manifest for the kingdom's profit.

The anointing is a trust from God. And like all things God puts in our trust, he wants us to use it to bring profit to His kingdom. The more you are able to bring profit, the more trust He puts in your care. As our verse for today tells us, if you are dishonest in the little access levels, you won’t be honest with the greater responsibilities of the higher access levels.

Heavenly Father, forgive me for walking in laziness in any area of my life. Please help me with the zeal and determination from within, which will motivate me to work hard and make good use of the access I have. And as I break away from the chains of laziness, I receive grace to be a diligent and conscientious worker for Your kingdom.
