Christ for Youth International

Jesus once told His disciples in Luke 9 that if anyone would come after Him, he must be ready to deny himself and take up his cross daily. There is a reason Jesus admonishes us to pick up our cross daily; consistency is an essential key in our walk as believers. Indeed, consistent effort achieves great things.

To be consistent is to be steady, stable and unwavering, regardless of the circumstances; favourable or otherwise. It is a firm resolve to keep on moving even when it is uncomfortable. Sometimes we tend to forget that it is the daily disciplines of prayer, quiet time, consistency in fellowshipping with other believers that makes a strong believer.

What we have been called and purposed to do is not meant to miraculously spring forth in a day. Fulfilling purpose is a journey we must make each day, not a magical destination we arrive at in the twinkling of an eye. God sees things in continuous progression, and we must align with His vision by doing the things we know to do even when we do not have a full picture. Ours is to trust Him who is all knowing and do what He asks of us daily.

You may be asking? What does God want me to do now? What is God’s vision for my life? In which direction would He have me move? It is rather simple, friends. Do not look too far, look around you, there are many opportunities to serve calling your name. Be intentional about putting into practice the last sermon you heard. Every little step of obedience you take is a step in the right direction. You will be blessed if you remain consistent in doing all the seemingly ‘little things’ God has asked of you. Oh what joy, if He finds you doing just that when He arrives!
