Christ in You
3rd DECEMBER 2022
To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. Colossians 1:27–28 NIV
Glorious things involve bringing glory to God. Yes, it is not all about what God does for us; it is also about what we do in response to who He is. Jesus brought glory to the Father by fulfilling the purpose of His life as a saviour. Even through death, He knew that was the way to glory the Father, and He stuck with it, regardless of how brutal it was.
This is the trademark of Christ, if we can call it that, He is all about the Father’s business and bringing it to completion. This is the same Christ that the Bible tells us that He is in us. What do you think He would be going after with your life? Your guess may be as good as ours; to bring glory to the Father and complete the assignment on your life. Christ in you, the hope of glory — that is because He won't give up on the assignment.
Our confidence should be in this truth that, Christ is in us, and our lives are for the glory of the Father. Jesus was born as a saviour, and for 33 years, He stuck with that agenda. That is why He could say I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. Christmas is about celebrating the birth of our saviour, but let us not lose sight of the fact that He did not run away from his purpose, that is why we keep celebrating Him.
What purpose has God drawn you to? Or revealed to you? Are you bringing Him glory in that? When we fulfil our purpose, thus, glorifying God, we end up proclaiming, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that they may fully mature in Christ. Hope you see the rippling effect our glorifying God in purpose has.
Heavenly Father, thank You for giving my life a purpose. Please help me by Your Spirit to bring You glory, as I fulfil every assignment upon my life. I know it is possible, and I will live a purposeful life because Christ dwells in me — there is hope for glory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
