Come Boldly
16th JULY, 2021

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. [Hebrews 4:16 KJV]
Many people believe that God is out of the reach of His people and that His holiness and majesty require special times and places to communicate with Him. This thought seems to resonate with the idea of building a place of worship for God, as seen in the Old Testament, where specific times were designated for worship.
Setting aside some time to be alone with God (either personal or with a congregation) is not wrong. However, it is equally true that God is ever ready to hear us anytime we call on Him. The Holy Bible is replete with records of people who prayed at different times, and God answered them. Anytime is prayer time.
Moreover, God is omnipresent — He is everywhere at the same time. Yes, He is transcendent, but our God is also immanent. He is not only in the heaven of heavens; he also dwells among His people. As Christians, we can take advantage of this reality that time and place do not affect our conversation with our Father. As revealed by our opening scripture, we are admonished to come boldly before our heavenly Father. This means that in prayer, we should not entertain any form of doubt.
Our boldness in prayer is built on the depth of our knowledge of God’s love for us — His love that gives us room to approach Him anywhere and at any time.
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that You have given me access to come before You in prayer, anytime and anywhere. My confidence lies in the fact that when I pray, You hear me. Thank You for this truth, oh Father.
