Destined for Good Works [Testimony]
28th AUGUST 2020
We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny He has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it! [Ephesians 2:10 TPT]
First of all, I am eternally grateful that God created me; it took me a while to come to this realization but I’m grateful to God for the unending learning process. I never thought my life would count for anything worthwhile. This is because, in the formative years of my life, the influencers who came my way did not make me feel a sense of self-worth, due to the fact that, I was frequently called out for poor academic performance. This rippled through various facets of my life, so much so that, I was afraid to make an effort because it had been ingrained in me that my efforts would amount to nothing.
However, God, our unconditionally-loving Father, in His infinite mercy, laced His eternal plan of redemption and restoration through my story. And having come to the knowledge of Christ’s finished work for me, all I can say is, my life was flipped 180 degrees in God’s purposeful direction. I am an epitome of God’s strength being made perfect in weakness.
Although I considered my existence as nothing, God thought otherwise. And He continues to fulfil His glorious plans through my life; using it as a blessing to others.
Upon becoming a part of Christ for Youth International (CYI), I have come to realise that God’s gift of service to me, through what I considered simple acts, continues to temper my character to blossom in accordance with His will. My hope is fuelled by God’s unwavering love for me, and therefore, I have no choice but to seek Him more. Today, I have the opportunity to lead other young people in their walk with Christ.
I just want to let you know that all hope is not lost. If you have given your life to Jesus Christ, according to our verse for today, He has re-created you, moulded you as His poetry so He can use you for glorious things. Understand this, you are joined to Jesus and in Him, all things find their purpose and meaning. Praise God, for you are destined for good works and you will surely fulfil them for the glory of God.
Dear Father, I thank You for loving me even at my lowest.
