Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them” — Ecclesiastes 12:1

The call to serve God with our strength is both a privilege and a responsibility. Our verse for today serves as a timeless reminder of the importance of dedicating our strength to God during the prime of our lives. It admonishes us to “remember our Creator in the days of our youth,” emphasizing that the vigor and energy we possess now are best utilized in His service. This call to action is not just about preserving the fleeting strength of youth but about ensuring that we live lives fully aligned with God’s purpose.

God has given each of us unique talents, energy, and time, all of which are meant to be used for His glory. Faithfulness in serving God means prioritizing Him above all else, using our resources to fulfill His mission of love and salvation.

The harvest of souls — bringing others into the knowledge of Christ — is a critical part of this service. Jesus Himself declared that the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few (Matthew 9:37). If we fail to engage in this work when our strength is at its peak, we miss out on fulfilling a divine calling that requires both urgency and commitment.

This is the best time to be available for outreaches and mission trips, join a department and serve faithfully, spend long hours praying and studying the Word, and be available for trainings and workshops to sharpen ourselves as labourers for God’s Kingdom.

As we labour in the harvest fields, faithfulness requires not only enthusiasm but consistency. It is easy to start strong but challenging to endure. Yet, God has promised to reward those who persevere in His work. The Apostle Paul encourages us not to grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). In moments where we grow tired, we must remember to rely on the Holy Spirit to rejuvenate our strength. Isaiah 40:31 says that “but those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Let us, therefore, give our best to God now, while we have the strength. By faithfully partaking in the harvest of souls, we ensure that our lives bear eternal fruits, glorifying our Creator and advancing His kingdom.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for the strength you have made available to me. Help me direct it towards the purpose of bringing your harvest in. In Jesus’ name. Amen
