Fulfil Scripture
17th APRIL 2022

He began speaking to them: “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing and in your presence.” Luke 4:21 AMP
The opening scripture today gives the understanding that by simply availing ourselves to heed to the word of God and walk by it, we are fulfilling the scriptures.
Over the years, it is as though the diligence of the generations towards bringing the good news to man is being diluted because of the popular opinions of the world. But, let us not forget it was not different back then when Israel lived amidst the Egyptians and under their rule, yet they worshipped the Lord. Do what you must, for the scriptures must be fulfilled.
The word of the Lord does not go and return void, and so His word never passes away. Every scripture is God breathed and the end of it is to make us complete by equipping us for good works. After all, that is what Ephesians 2:10 makes us understand; we are the Lord’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works for a purpose which we are already predestined for.
We may be looking for our purposes in a form of our ministry, but the end of it sure leads us back to the commission of the disciples into the world as the witnesses of the Lord, as said in Acts 1:8. So that the scripture be fulfilled, from time immemorial, every single act of the prophets even before the first coming of our Lord Jesus Christ was to reconcile us back to God. They were witnesses of the word of God by simply living out their life purposes. By virtue of Moses bringing the Israelites out of Egypt, He fulfilled the scripture of the promised land. Our works count.
By obeying the instructions of the word and fanning into flames our gifts of teaching and prophesying the word of the Lord and every single act done in faith that the world may come to know Him, we are fulfilling the scriptures. Let your purpose lead you back to your destiny of being a witness to the Lord. Be intentional about walking in your purpose to reconcile souls back to God.
Need I remind you that we are living out the word of God in Acts 1:8 right now, even through this devotional? This conclusively says, when we walk in our purposes, the scripture is fulfilled. And in fulfilling the scriptures, what Christ said in Acts 1:8 has been fulfilled.
May I avail myself for your purpose in me to be fulfilled, that your word may be fulfilled. Make me a vessel that honours your word in and out of season. Amen
