God is on the Journey.
17th JULY 2020
God said, “My presence will go with you. I’ll see the journey to the end.” [Exodus 33:14 MSG]
When God told Moses this (our opening text), the journey with the Israelites was only beginning. The Israelites were going to face many battles, many nations were going to rise up against them yet God saw all this before He made that statement to Moses and He still brought the Israelites to the promised land.
From this, we know that God will not leave His children destitute if He knew He could not see them to the very end. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden of Eden, God had made provision for what had happened and still saw mankind to the end by sending His Son Jesus on earth to die for the world. He still had us in mind and completed what began in Eden.
When David was anointed by Samuel as the next king after king Saul, David had to hide in caves for his own safety and kept running for his life especially from Saul for many years; constantly facing threats of death before he ascended the throne. The journey you may be on right now may not be easy, in fact, it may look impossible but remember what God said in Deuteronomy 31:6 and Hebrews 13:5: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
His presence on the journey is what matters, not the nature of the journey.
This assurance gives us the confidence and boldness we need, knowing that God’s presence is always with us and will see us to the very end.
Heavenly Father, no matter what I may be going through, always remind me that You are with me in this journey. Amen.
