God’s Mighty Hand

He said, This is the message from the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Your help will not come from your own strength and power. No, your help will come from my Spirit.’ This is what the Lord All-Powerful says. Zechariah 4:6 ERV

When we realise how vulnerable and insignificant we are in the eyes of God, it humbles us. We exist because there is a sovereign God who has purposed to give us the opportunity to live for a greater purpose than we can even comprehend. The preceding is intended to emphasise the significance of God’s mighty hand on us. We must recognise that our strength alone will not suffice.

According to James, we are as vapour. When viewed through the lens of eternity, our significance on Earth is negligible. We must accept that anything we do that will have eternal significance will not be the result of our might or strength. The Holy Spirit is the one who works on our behalf. As someone who aspires to do great things for God, you must understand that your reliance on the Holy Spirit is directly related to the works you will be able to complete for God’s kingdom.

By your own strength, you can never build or add a single brick to God’s work.

You will require the mighty Holy Spirit’s power to assist you in everything you will do. Do not be misled; many people have worked in vain. You could construct with your strength, but the question here is, “how long will what you’ve done last?” According to the Bible, God’s kingdom is an everlasting kingdom whose dominion endures throughout all generations (Psalm 145:13). Whatever God creates is eternal.

As a result, rely more on God’s spirit. Do not place your faith in your flesh. You may be perplexed about how to rely on the Holy Spirit, but the best advice is to pray more and spend more time studying the Bible. By doing so, you will become aware of the Holy Spirit’s leading and will follow Him as He leads you to a fruitful life.

Dear Father, please help me to rely on the Holy Spirit in order to live a fruitful life as a leader.
