God’s Wisdom is Peaceful
11th JULY, 2021
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” [John 16:33 NLT]
“Peace comes not from the absence of trouble but from the presence of God” — Alexander MacLaren.
For us to be able to navigate this trouble-ridden world, we need the peace of God that transcends all human understanding to guard our hearts and minds. This peace can only be found in Godly wisdom! Where God’s wisdom reigns, peace reigns.
The writer of the popular hymn ‘It Is Well With My Soul’ Horatio Spafford, penned those lyrics at a time in his life when he was dealing with the loss of his businesses and the death of his daughters to a shipwreck. It takes the wisdom of God’s word for one to be comforted at such a difficult time. The truth of God’s word resident in us is the peace we need to hold on to and this is what comforts and strengthens us in times of trouble.
As Christians, we have the privilege of enjoying peace found in Godly wisdom, however, it doesn’t and shouldn’t end there. As representatives of Christ in this world, we must extend God’s peace to people. This is the highlight of Godly wisdom! Romans 12:18 NLT says “Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.”
If our mouths speak out of the abundance of our hearts then it is ever so important to keep the Godly wisdom of God’s word in our hearts. This way we can speak peace into every situation of our lives.
Father, thank You for Your peace that guards our hearts and minds. Keep our minds stayed on You, so that we will gain Your wisdom to guide us in this world. Amen.
