Let Us Love
22nd MARCH 2023
--
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is (springs) from God; and he who loves [his fellowmen] is begotten (born) of God and is coming [progressively] to know and understand God [to perceive and recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of Him]. 1 John 4:7 AMPC
Each person possesses both talents and faults. While some things come naturally to us, others call for a little more work on our part. Walking in love may have been one of those things before accepting Christ. As in, you found it difficult to turn a blind eye and maintain composure in the face of opposition. An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, and forgive but don’t forget were your guiding principles. In discovering Christ, such guiding principles ought to change.
Knowing or being told that God loves you is one thing, but experiencing this love first-hand is quite another.
When we are feeling overwhelmed, we are besieged by strong emotions that are typically difficult to control. And we frequently find it challenging to contain what we are feeling. Yet, anybody who loves knows God, according to John. He also says in our verse for today that God’s love is so strong that it compels us to desire to love others. Thus if you know God, no matter how overwhelmed you may be, His strong love will compel you to control yourself.
As God’s children, everything we do must be infused with love since this sets us apart from the rest of the world. As a result, if you’re having trouble walking in love, you need to assess how close you are to the Father. Aim to get to know Him so that your love for Him might expand and then overflow to those around you.
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of love. I ask that You will teach me how to love people every day as You give me the wisdom and strength to do so. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
