Our Love Letter
14th FEBRUARY 2022
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16 AMP.
Love is the eternal second chance for all and sundry to live right with God.
The text says, “For God so loved the world,” not just Christians nor children nor the gentiles nor Jews, He loved the world. The truth is, we have all experienced this love because He died for us all. The fact that the world is in constant denial of this because we think “it is too good to be true” does not render it untrue. His love and grace have covered more than we are aware of in our life.
Knowing the first time those words were spoken and to whom, one could imagine how Nicodemus felt in reverence of the nature of God when he experienced the patience and kindness of Christ, instead of condemnation. That is love; it keeps no record of wrong. Only God knows how long it took for Nicodemus to finally sit with Jesus to hear these words, yet for us, it is different. Some of us grew up reciting these words as though they were our passing rights. As a matter of fact, we are so privileged that we have become too familiar and befriended forgetfulness. We can simply go before God anytime and anywhere, even in our hearts, and by reason of the Holy Spirit, know who He is for ourselves as Nicodemus wanted. But what are we doing with this grace love paved the way for?
Talk about the love which gives life. Love in God’s arms is like that peace you pray for, it transcends all understanding. In this love, we’ve been purified and redeemed, discharged and acquitted for life. The love that bought us our justification, that our sins no longer hold us captive. That is what God’s love is, it does not stop loving.
Today is about learning the truth not finding faults, but no matter how difficult it is to love sometimes, it does not take away the fact that it is possible to love always. Just keep the attributes from 1 Corinthians 13 about love on your heart and meditate on it day and night, not forgetting that the attributes of love are the attributes of God.
Heavenly Father, I know You are love, so I pray in Jesus’ name, may love lead my life in all my ways, Amen
