Power in the Name JESUS
17th NOVEMBER 2022
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name. Philippians 2:9 NIV
The power in the name of Jesus is unlike any other power there is. This power is totally dependable and unchanging. The power that heals the sick, raises the dead, causes fire to fall from heaven, and much more is still at work. This is the same power that gives us victory!
If there is anything we can boast about as Christians, then it is in the power of the name JESUS. As children of God, we should not live a life of defeat, but a life of victory, according to the power that is in Christ. How can we be defeated when victory belongs to Christ? Though we may face struggles in this world, we should remember there is a name we can call on, He has overcome the world, and we are more than conquerors in Him. The scriptures tell us to call on the name Jesus, and we will be saved. This goes to show the authority the name carries.
As Christians, we should be fully convinced that the name of Jesus carries ultimate authority and power. Philippians 2:10–11 tells us, “The authority of the name of Jesus causes every knee to bow in reverence! Everything and everyone will one day submit to this name — in the heavenly realm, in the earthly realm, and in the demonic realm. And every tongue will proclaim in every language: “Jesus Christ is Lord Yahweh,” bringing glory and honor to God, his Father!”. Our lives should be lived in a way that acknowledges and gives reverence to this power daily.
When we pray, we should pray with faith and confidence knowing that this ever-potent name, JESUS, is able to cast out demons, calm any storm, move mountains, heal the sick, mend our brokenness, restore us, rewrite our story, give life to dead situations, roll away the stones of shame and reproach, turn any situation around for our good and give us tremendous victory. Hallelujah!
Jesus, I am so grateful for Your mighty name that I can always rely on. Help me never to take this name for granted, but daily acknowledge that Your name is powerful and the only name that gives me victory. Amen
