“… but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” [Philippians 3:13b-14 KJV]

Consistency is essential in making great strides when venturing into new territories. Instinctively, for us as human beings, it is almost as though we know all that will go wrong when it comes to us embracing something new. Added to this, our natural tendency of settling where we find secure may hinder us from making progress.

As much as God remains the same yesterday, today and forever, He is still the same God whose mercies are new every morning. In summary, our Heavenly Father is not a God of stagnancy; He is constantly consistent.

No one achieves great results by having a lackadaisical approach to life. A tree, though planted at a particular spot would go through endless cycles of growth till it is cut down or withers and dies. God is able to do more with us when we tread on the road of consistency. The attitude of consistency only demands that we progressively make effort towards achieving God-inspired goals. The Kingdom of God expands when we move consistently.

Regardless, of the persistent distractions that keep staring us in the face, keeping our faith and gaze on Christ aids us to make progressive steps towards attaining Him. By our strength (self-motivation) we achieve nothing, it ends up wearing us out.

“For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.” [Matthew 11:30 TPT].

God is a loving Father, not a task master. The moment we make time to know and yield to intimacy with God, our consistency will be fuelled by pure passion to see others experience the same love by which we have come to know Him.

Heavenly Father, please help me to be consistent and intentional about my walk with You. May my desire to be intimate with You never cease. In Jesus name, Amen
