Pursue Purpose [Part 2].

Christ for Youth International

For I know the purposes which I am purposing for you,’ says the LORD; ‘purposes of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. [Jeremiah 29:11 AFV]

It is one thing to have or know our purpose and another to be aware that God is the one who planned it. The question we should ask ourselves is, why should one pursue purpose? God planned before time for us to do well in life by trusting His plans. God wants us to fulfil our purpose — His purpose for us — excellently. As a matter of fact, a sure solution to Ghana’s problems and those of the world at large is dependent on us living out our purpose.

Our inspiration to pursue purpose in all diligence must be drawn from God’s concrete Word. God does not slack concerning His promises neither does He go back on His Word. He has made a way for us to do better than our best always. We should never come to a place where God’s word sounds cliché to us because this will make us veer off the journey to fulfilling our purpose.

We must remember that we do not live just for ourselves but for the benefit of others too. As such, the need to prioritize purpose cannot be overemphasized. It may mean documenting what God lays on our hearts, keeping the right circle of like-minded people and feeding on healthy resources that build our capacity to be productive.

If we align ourselves to the purpose of God for our lives, anxiety will be far away from us. Many of us are anxious about tomorrow because we are unsure if our plans will be fruitful or not. But as our scripture for the day clearly states; the purposes of God bring us peace, a future and hope. By all means, we have to give our all to the pursuit of God’s purpose for our lives. There is no greater satisfaction than fulfilling one’s God-ordained purpose.

Heavenly Father, please help me realign my plans to Your purpose for me. Please teach me how to pursue Your purpose daily and never veer off track. Amen.
