Receive Mercy’s Kiss
8th JULY 2022
So now we come freely and boldly to where love is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness. [Hebrews 4:16 TPT]
Many people believe that God is out of reach for His people, and communicating with Him requires special times and places. This thought appears to resonate with the idea of constructing a place of worship for God, as seen in the Old Testament, where specific times for worship were designated.
It is not wrong to set aside some time to be alone with God (either personally or as a congregation). However, it is also true that God is always ready to hear us whenever we call on Him. The Holy Bible is replete with accounts of people who prayed at various times and had their prayers answered by God. Prayer time is at any time.
Furthermore, God is omnipresent, which means that He is everywhere at the same time. Yes, our God is transcendent, but He is also immanent. He resides not only in the heavens, but also among His people. As Christians, we can take advantage of the fact that time and place have no bearing on our conversations with God. As revealed by our opening scripture, we are admonished to approach our heavenly Father with confidence. This means that we should not entertain any kind of doubt in prayer.
Our confidence in prayer stems from a thorough understanding of God’s love for us, a love that allows us to approach Him at any time and in any place.
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for reminding me that You have given me the ability to come before You in prayer at any time and from any place. My faith is based on the fact that You hear me when I pray. Thank You, Father, for this truth.
