Stay Confident
24th MAY 2022
“for In him we live and move and have our being…” Acts 17:28 ESV
Confidence is the feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something.
Which would you rather have;
A situation where you are called to give a talk on a subject unfamiliar to you? A situation where you are called to give a talk on a subject in which you have a great deal of knowledge?
Statistically speaking, you may have encountered at least one of these situations (together with the feelings that accompany it) in your life. Yesterday’s devotional spoke about us digging deeper into the word of God to gain more understanding.
When you understand what you are talking about, confidence comes naturally. You won’t have to “fake the confidence till you feel it.” The Bible talks about Daniel being a learned person who knew the word, because he read the word, searched it and was able to confidently make predictions of what was going to happen in the future.
When you read the word, you are able to confidently approach the throne of grace (Heb 4:16) and remind God of His promises (Isa 43:26). Keep in mind that this confidence we speak of does not come about in a day, it takes time and consistency to build it. Thankfully, we do not have to do this on our own; we have the Holy Spirit to guide us (John 14:15–21).
Heavenly Father, we ask that You grant us grace and strength to read and study Your word, that we may also be like Christ and walk in the confidence of Your love, Amen.
