Study Diligently
25th MAY 2022
Diligently study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of the truth; 2 Timothy 2:15 AFV
The mind is a battlefield, and knowledge is your power and your liberation. What you know, or do not know, can become your downfall. One thing that helps in the increase of knowledge is reading.
A lot of knowledge can be found in a book.
Reading is a way to enter someone’s shoes or move from one country to another without actually taking a step. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
We are being admonished to study. Not only just the word of God (though that is very essential in our walk as believers) but in everything that we put our hands to. We have to build our mental capacities. We have to grow our lives and gain experience.
The Bible also says that we should think about things that are excellent, praiseworthy, true, noble, right, pure and Lovely based on Philippians 4:8. The devil finds works for idle hands and minds in extension. You would notice that on the days you were “bored”, sin or unclean thoughts came to you faster than when you were occupied with something lucrative.
We must not let our minds become passive. We must reach out for new information that can be found in books. The world is moving fast, and one way to stay ahead is to read a book.
Heavenly Father, please help me to keep my mind on whatever things are true, whatever things are honourable, things that are just, whatever things that are pure, even as I read and study, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
