The Battle is the Lord’s

Jahaziel said, “King Jehoshaphat, listen! All you who live in Judah and Jerusalem, listen! The Lord says to you, ‘Do not be afraid. Do not lose hope because of this huge army. The battle is not yours. It is God’s. 2 Chronicles 20:15 NIRV
How well do you know the Word of God, and what percentage of it, would you say you live by? Do you really pray with the word when the need arises? When you are on your knees or with your hands lifted up, what do you pray for, and by what authority? Praying according to the scriptures is not just another saying you see on your feed daily, but a truth that assures you of your victory in these times. When we meditate on the Word and our prayer is birth out of that process, fear and hopelessness cannot make us lose sight of our victory in our Lord Jesus.
The Lord hears us even when we pray amiss. The challenge with that though is we do not get to see results as we think we should. But when we pray with His Word, not only does He hear us, we see the results in ways we could not have planned out for ourselves. Do not let situations or circumstances, and your expectations of what you believe should be, outside of the will of God, tell you otherwise.
The Bible recounts the story of King Jehoshaphat and how he put his trust in the Lord. When the nations turned against his people, the Word of the Lord says, “Jehoshaphat was alarmed. So he decided to ask the Lord for advice. He told all the people of Judah to go without eating”, thus “the people came together to ask the Lord for help. In fact, they came from every town in Judah to pray to Him” (2 Chronicles 20:3&4). And the response of the Lord was the opening scripture for today, which summarizes as “Fear not, for the battle is of the Lord”.
Prayer is communication, and we must learn to improve how we use that skill as believers. The latter part of James 5:16 summarizes the lengths our prayer can take us when we actually do pray. And so the Word says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. You need no other validation for your victory in Christ Jesus when you know His Word and declare it in prayer. You speak it into existence because it is already so, says the Lord.
Thank You, Lord, for the assurance of my victory in You. I give fear no chance to cripple me. As I stand by Your Word in prayer, may every victory You have ordained for me be opened up to me in Jesus' name, Amen.
