“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” [1 John 4:4 NLT]

The death of Jesus on the cross at Calvary and His victorious cry; “It is finished!” is irreversible. It tells of the fact that we have victory and the age-old enemy of our souls no longer has power over us in any way. Christ’s sacrificial death and glorious resurrection was a pivotal point where all who believed in God became overcomers.

Living victoriously means being in Christ or belonging to Him. Our lives must be lived such that when those around us look at us, they see God through us. Once we are true believers that have Christ living inside of us, it means that we share in His victory and so we have already won any battle that may come our way.

Being in Christ puts us above every scheme of the devil.

The power of God is greater than the enemy’s. As children of God, we must always walk in the consciousness of the fact that the Greater One lives on the inside of us and so no scheme of the enemy can come close. Many times, the enemy makes us believe that we have no power and no hope because we do not read the word of God for ourselves.

My old identity has been co-crucified with Christ and no longer lives; for the nails of His cross crucified me with Him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives His life through me — we live in union as one! My new life is empowered through faith in the Son of God who loves me so much that He gave Himself for me, and dispenses His life into mine! [Galatians 2:20]

Father, I am grateful for the new life in You. I walk consciously in the knowledge of this newness and confidently in what You call me.
