Wisdom our Life Compass
23rd OCTOBER, 2021
[Discretion shall watch over you, understanding shall keep you] [Prov. 2:11 AMPC ]… to deliver you from the alien woman, from the outsider with her flattering words, who forsakes the husband and guide of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God. For her house sinks down to death and her paths to the spirits [of the dead]. None who go to her return again, neither do they attain or regain the paths of life. [Proverbs 2:16-19 AMPC]
We’re living in a world where Godly wisdom and knowledge is very essential. The adulterous woman here depicts the world we are in now. According to the account of Matthew, Jesus said that wide is the gate that leads to destruction, and many are on that way.
The world is becoming more like a video game where each level unlocks a different kind of destruction, thus, if we do not carry any knowledge and wisdom to overcome it, we will fail that level. As time goes on, more destruction keeps entering, making it more evil. But that is why we have God. If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. James 1:5 (AMPC)
As believers, the Bible is our sure guide to this world. The more we read it, the more we gain knowledge and wisdom to navigate life because God speaks to us through His Word. As we read the Word, we must also ensure that we are consistent in our prayer lives; the effective and fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
In Luke, Jesus gave an instruction that man ought to pray, always, not sometimes, not when you feel like it, but always. People of God, pray! Even when it comes to the little things pray, with every decision you want to take, in every direction you want to go, pray.
Heavenly Father, please give us the grace to daily pray for wisdom and direction as we go through life. Help us not to grow weary or become self-reliant. Amen
