Work as Jesus Did
18th OCTOBER, 2021
“We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.” [John 9:4 NLT]
But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.” (John 5:17 NLT)
“And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38 NLT)
Jesus Christ, our ultimate standard, exemplified a linear focus, passion, and faithfulness towards fulfilling His assignment to please His Father and for the good of all men while on earth. The King of kings put in the effort to get the eternal job done. Against all obstacles, He persevered.
In addition to the victory, Jesus won on our behalf, His life on earth is proof that we can prevail in our faith walk. We must always be on guard, standing firm in the faith to rid every excuse we are likely to make. What we may consider personal shortfalls or limitations should not hinder our progress in God. We must be quick to surrender any burden as we keep looking to Christ, who gives us the grace to become like Him.
Nothing can separate us from the love of God, this should be our drive in everything we do. Disappointment, betrayal of trust, and persecution from others should not be a reason for us to hold back on how far we can go in working for the Lord.
Our Heavenly Father is not a taskmaster, He’s a loving Father. How we live our lives must be proof that we also appreciate this unconditional love we daily receive.
Our lives must point others to the saving grace of God. It must give hope to others. Our work for the Lord must come with a great demonstration of love. Wherever we find ourselves, we can be of service to expand the Kingdom of God. We do not need the limelight to know we are of service. Whether we are noticed or not, our encouragement should come from the honour and privilege of being found useful in God's kingdom.
Heavenly Father, please give me the grace to be unhindered in my walk with You by any limitations that I may experience in my life.
