You Will Receive Them

The wonderful thing about prayer is that God responds to our requests. People in the Bible who put their complete trust in the Lord received answers to their prayers. The apostle Paul is one such person. Miracles, signs, and wonders adorned Paul’s life. While preaching the good news of God’s kingdom. His message was flooded with the healing of the sick, the release of those held captive by demons, and the resurrection of the dead (Acts 19:11–12, 20:7–12).

Paul himself was able to survive harsh weather conditions and go days without food. These and other feats were made possible by God’s power released through prayer.

Matthew 7:7 also reveals that when we ask God a question, He will respond. We can discover God’s vision for us by simply asking in prayer. The good news is that prayer not only reveals God’s plans, thoughts, or intentions for us, but it also activates the power (ability and might) required to carry them out.

Prayer is essential for both knowing and doing God’s will.

Prayer allows us to access the resources of heaven while also providing a platform for fellowship with God and enjoyment of His presence. Many Christians are perplexed as to why God waits for us to pray before acting. They wonder why, if God already knows what we need, He doesn’t just meet them. God, in principle, will not impose anything on us, no matter how good it is. As a result, we must be deliberate in our communication with Him. It is important to note, however, that as a loving Father, He patiently waits for us to make the time and exercise our free will to come to Him.

Father, thank You for reminding me of the power of prayer today. I accept Your grace to be more intentional about investing in prayer. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
