The world and her husband have been talking about Prince Harry’s upcoming wedding to Ms. Meghan Markle, and it’s just our luck that Saturday 19 May is the last day of Christian Aid Week. For this week, thousands of people across the UK will #StandTogether with our global neighbours, fundraising, campaigning and praying as one.

Put on a Big Wedding Brekkie to make poverty toast and bring your community together. Whether your Big Brekkie is planned for 19 May or anytime during Christian Aid Week, here are some regal tips:

1. Screen the wedding

The great news is that the BBC have agreed to let people screen the wedding at community parties without paying for a licence, which means your Big Brekkie can bring the community together to watch Ms. Markle walk down the aisle.

2. Have a wedding cake bake-off

Rumour has it that the happy couple have opted for a lemon and elderflower cake to celebrate their nuptuals. Why not invite the best bakers you know to try their own version of the royal wedding cake, you could even crown the winner!

3. Serve Eggs Royale

Add smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce to your poached eggs to make a special breakfast fit for a Princess, perfect for celebrating a royal wedding.

4. Dress for the occasion

What better excuse to don your finest party dress or sharpest suit to make it an occasion to remember?

5. Bunting, bunting, bunting

Give your Brekkie the street party vibe with some good old bunting, or you can also order Christian Aid bunting here!

6. Break out your commemorative plates

Anyone have a plate or mug from Charles and Diana’s wedding? Ask people to bring their commemorative crockery to serve up your Big Brekkie in style.

7. Our Port-au-Princess

This year’s Christian Aid Week focuses on Haiti, and the incredible work our partners are doing to empower local communities, building disaster proof homes for Haitians. You may remember that a catastrophic earthquake hit the capital Port-au-Prince in 2010, killing thousands and leaving millions of people like Vilia still feeling the impact. Show Vilia’s inspiring story of strength and survival at your Big Brekkie event. With your support we can help even more people like Vilia to thrive, not just survive.
