Are You Aware of The Treasures in Earthen Vessels? How Well Do You Use Them?
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”
2 Cor. 4:7(KJV)

Remember in response to this probing fact; if you were to appear before a jury comprising God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, and you were asked to convince God why He should keep you alive based on how you spent all that you were endowed with this year. Will your life be preserved?
Remember, we shall all give account one day of our sojourn and pilgrimage on earth. It is either we are commended or condemned eternally. To avoid the rude shock of being condemned in His presence and being eternally ashamed and be a colossal waste is the reason for this spiritual stock-taking.
Remember we are coming from a spiritual checkup with an intention to show us the need for personal revival. So, we got to this juncture to see the need for repentance, restitution, and repositioning of ourselves in faith in the coming years.
The text above talks about spiritual blessings that were given to us when we came to Christ. This treasure includes the Holy Spirit with His gifts distributed to us all unequally; the ministry gifts specially given by Christ to those who has leadership responsibility in the body of Christ; many who are gifted in support ministries; and all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ freely given commonly to all members of Christ’s body to live a triumphant life?
- Do you know the reason why you have been living a defeated life, is because you ignored to utilize this treasure in you?
- Do you know that why you are always found falling and rising — hot for two days and cold in two months — is as a result of disconnecting from this treasure within?
- Do you know that why you have always struggled to be a Christian in your daily walk and you have not known rest is because you never make optimal use of the treasure within?
- Do you allow the power of holiness to work in you every day in this year or you are trying to be holy? Why have you always been living in the flesh when Christ and all His endowment is in you?
- Do you make use of the treasure within you to showcase Christ to people, make difference in the world and advance Christ’s kingdom on earth?
- Do you use the gift(s) of the Holy Spirit in your life to serve the body of Christ and to fish men out of the ocean of sin?
- Do you make your ministry gift of being Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher to serve the body, furnished the brethren and build them up into one body? Or you are damaging and demarcating it?
- What has Christ gained in making you what you are in Him and in His Church? What profit has your life brought to God with all this treasure within you?
- Are you a blessing or a curse with the treasure within you? Is your life a liability or asset in His house? Is God maintaining your life at loss and you are a deficit in His kingdom?
Won’t God say to you, “Why use more days? Cut him/her off before the end of the year!” But we always have the vinedresser who always plead for us all. Yet His pleading of sparing us from the axe of judgment has a time limit. Who knows whether this year is your last chance?
Holy Father, have mercy on me. I must not be a disappointment and disgrace to Your kingdom!
