Jonathan Leeman is the editorial director for 9Marks. His views are deeply influenced by the Fabian socialist London School of Economics, of which he is a graduate.

Leeman advocates that churches should take a hands-off approach to most political issues. He believes that the vast majority of political issues in the US in 2020 are areas for Christian liberty.

Leeman is a prominent voice in the movement of Reformed Christianity in the US. Below I have listed recommended reading for understanding his positions and the concerns that Christians ought to have with those positions.

My Review: How Can I Love Church Members with Different Politics? (BOOK REVIEW)

Book: How the Nations Rage (By Leeman, 2018)

One Amazon review of this book summarizes:

“Author Jonathan Leeman calls Christians to put down extremist titles and perspectives, and focus on our local context more heavily than our national context. What difference can the gospel make in our community? What change can we make, here and now, that reflects the love of Jesus into the lives of the people around us? Leeman calls readers to be devoted to Christ, and to rethink our devotional to political parties and positions. His message is much needed in a time of such great division.”

My Response: Jonathan Leeman Errs on Political “Preferences” and Christian Unity

Video: Nations Raging, Church Unchanging. At mark 48:00 to 53:00 of the video, Mark Dever and Jonathan Leeman explain their views about church members voting for Democrats in national level elections.
