You might run into this problem:
You make a social media post, and then somebody replies as follows:
“Well I want to know about all the exceptions to what you said…”
“Can you explain everything from the start?”
“Prove that you’re not wrong!”
“Have you even read these three books?”
“I need to know the substantiation for your entire belief system…”
How do you reply to that kind of comment?
Should you even try?
And what is your obligation?
It’s a challenging scenario, because, while you want to be fair, the world is full of people in search of one more long, unrewarding argument.
If it’s a random stranger and they have an anonymous account with only ten followers, you probably don’t owe them an answer at all.
But, then, to whom do you owe a reply?
